Snow removal: Need for a more flexible policy

Several elected officials, including the head and mayor of LaSalle, are asking the Plante administration to review the snow removal policy. They believe that boroughs should be able to declare their own snow removal operations without being penalized.
The boroughs of LaSalle and Saint-Laurent were penalized for clearing snow before the municipal operation on February 7, despite safety concerns.
Local elected officials want more autonomy to better meet the needs of residents. Mayor Valérie Plante has indicated that centralization is intended to optimize resource sharing, but she is open to adjustments.
