Nancy Blanchet, chief and mayor of the borough of LaSalle, takes a stand on the major transportation project in Montreal’s Greater Southwest: “Regardless of the scenario presented, a majority of respondents believe that the project will help improve mobility and living environments while preserving the natural environment. ” She emphasizes that the implementation of electrified public transit represents a promising solution for a more sustainable future.
With this in mind, the mayor’s office is organizing a breakfast meeting to mobilize key players in the borough’s business community. The goal is to support this infrastructure project and position the transportation corridor as a regional priority. This initiative aims to reaffirm the commitment of institutional and commercial partners in a context where sustainable mobility needs are urgent.
This luncheon is part of the public consultations conducted by the ARTM in 2024. The ARTM states that “the objective of the opportunity file is to study the needs of the territory in order to recommend a route and mode of transportation scenario that is financially responsible in meeting those needs.”
