A proud resident of the Bronx, Benoit Auger knows his community like no one else. Born in LaSalle, he studied at Notre-Dame du Sacré-Coeur Elementary School, which has since become the Centre Henri-Lemieux. He attended high school at Collège Notre-Dame and pursued collegiate education in Management at Cégep André-Laurendeau. A true sports enthusiast, he is also a passionate hockey player with the LaSalle Cyclones.
Having been exposed to the hairdressing business since he was a child, Benoit Auger decided to embrace it as his profession and take over the family salon after several years of apprenticeship and training in Business Management. Rayko Coiffure has expanded profitably thanks to his managerial skills and ongoing training.
As a professional hairstylist serving five generations of clients and as a Team Leader, Benoit Auger has developed an uncommon ability to listen and a natural empathy for the people around him. He describes himself as a Community Businessman.
His social commitment to his neighbourhood is also reflected in his participation in the Comité Catalyseur, where he has put to good use the experience and contacts he has accumulated over the years. Meeting exceptional people from the community, cultural, commercial and environmental spheres motivates him and nurtures his desire to take part in the regeneration of LaSalle. The success of the Bronx celebrations, made possible by the involvement of citizens and merchants, has reinforced his belief that citizen mobilization and involvement are at the heart of his commitment. He believes that all together, we can achieve a lot!
This is the reason why in 2021 Benoit Auger decided to venture into politics with Équipe LaSalle Team alongside Nancy Blanchet running as a Borough Councillor for the Sault-Saint-Louis district.
