Benoit Auger is a well-known face in the Bronx neighborhood of LaSalle, where he has embodied for more than forty years community engagement and local entrepreneurship. Elected borough councillor in 2021 under the banner of Équipe LaSalle Team, he proudly represents the Sault-Saint-Louis district, with an approach centered on citizen listening, transparency, and authenticity.
Owner of the Rayko Coiffure salon, Benoit is much more than a merchant: he is a catalyst for social connection. Over the decades, his business has become a true place for discussions, ideas, and local solidarity. His rootedness in the Bronx gives him a deep understanding of local issues and an authentic closeness with LaSallians.
Within the borough council, Benoit Auger plays an active role in several key bodies, notably as President of the Urban Planning Advisory Committee (CCU), member of the traffic committee and the participatory budget, and Vice-President of the Ecological Transition Committee (CTEL). At the City of Montréal, he is a member of the commission on social development and Montréal diversity.
His commitment to a safer and more inclusive city is also reflected in his role within Piétons Québec, where he advocates for urban planning that promotes active mobility and the safety of the most vulnerable.
An athlete at heart, former player of the LaSalle Cyclones, Benoit is also a lover of Parc des Rapides, which he describes as a natural jewel to be preserved.
Benoit Auger embodies a vision of municipal politics based on proximity, transparency, and concrete action. His journey reflects a sincere commitment to the citizens of LaSalle and a deep desire to build a human-scale borough, where everyone can contribute to a common future.
