Nancy Blanchet

Borough Mayor

A native of Québec, Nancy Blanchet holds an undergraduate degree in history from Université Laval in Québec. She moved to LaSalle with her family in 2003, where she has been involved as a volunteer in her community, notably on the Board of Directors of the École des Découvreurs.

As General Director of the Table de développement social de LaSalle for nearly six years, she has developed a solid experience in non-profit organization management and community mobilization, demonstrating a great ability to bring together local actors around the development issues of our community.

From 2013 to 2017, as Borough Councillor for the Sault-Saint-Louis District, she chaired the Urban Planning Advisory Committee and was entrusted with the Sports and Recreation file for the borough. She was a member of the Traffic Committee and represented LaSalle on the Committee of Elected Officials on Social Development of Montreal.

Re-elected for a second term in 2017, she continues to chair the Urban Planning Advisory Committee and is responsible locally for social and community development and sustainable development files. Ms. Blanchet is also a member of the City’s Commission sur le développement social et la diversité montréalaise.

A committed woman who strives to contribute to the well-being of her fellow citizens, she succeeds Manon Barbe as the leader of the Équipe LaSalle Team party in preparation for the November 2021 municipal election.
